The VFW's Military
Scholarship program provides 25 $3,000 scholarships annually to VFW members
who are currently serving in uniform or have been discharged within the 36
months before the December 31 deadline.
The scholarships will be awarded to servicemembers from each branch of
service (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard) during the
first quarter of the year following the deadline.
Note: For 2009, the program has been renamed to VFW Military Family
Scholarship, and servicemembers may elect to use the scholarship for their
spouse or child to attend school.

to all members of the VFW:
This years VODtheme
is "SERVICE AND SACRIFICE BY AMERICA'S VETERANS
BENEFIT TODAY'S YOUTH BY _______________." This is
open to all students, 9th thru 12th grade. Deadline is
Nov. 1, 2008.
Patriot's Pen Theme is "WHY
AMERICA'S VETERANS SHOULD BE HONORED." Entry
deadline Nov. 1, 2008. and is open to students in grades
6 and 7.

NOTICE TO ALL VFW
MEMBERS!!!!!
Every
Wednesday at 7pm SCA fighter practice. The event is open to public to watch
or participate. The last Wednesday of the month is their "GRUB AND GARB
NIGHT", This is the night that they bring food that has been prepared in the
early 12th century to the 17th century and is judged on taste, period
preparation, also they wear period garb from that era. Canteen is open, so
come out and enjoy the activity for the whole family.
