Commander's Corner ~
Comrades,
We are coming to the final two months of the year. They are going to be a busy
two months. Nov. 8 from 3-11 we will have the Blues Challenge. Volunteers to
help are appreciated. Nov. 9 from 2-6 is the Salute to Veterans benefit for the
Post. Bring your friends and come enjoy the music. Of course, on Nov. 11 we will
be serving breakfast to the veterans, then the parade with B-B-Q in the lounge
afterwards. The Walk of Honor bricks should be in place by then. Dec. 17 will be
the Posts' Christmas party. This is always a lot of fun, so please come and
join us. The Pancake Breakfast continues to grow. Octobers breakfast brought
in a $396. profit. Our second meeting potlucks are really quite enjoyable, if
you haven't been you should try it. Novembers entree will be.... Turkey! A
big thank-you to Ken McCleary and his cleaning crew for all their hard work.
The Post looks beautiful!! Thank-you to Dick and Shirley Bruce for the hall
rental sign, and to Danny Ponder for installing it and fixing the lights to
shine on it. Thanks to all who donate their time for the breakfasts and all the
other functions. If anyone wants to rent the hall for a party or if you know of
anyone who wants to rent the hall, please contact Shirley Bruce, Events
Coordinator. And finally watch the web for news of a New Years party. IF we get
the band(s) we will have tickets available at the post.
